Creative Coziness

In this beautiful month of October, when the leaves begin to change and fall from the trees in crispy goodness, the clouds begin to form as well and some days are "cozier" than others. The cloudy, gray days are wonderful for nesting at home near loved ones and partaking in creative endevours. The crisp days are like jewels in the sky, gifts from the heavens to go outside and play. Everything in life is a lesson in balancing the variety of our experiences and circumstances.

So for this month, I'd like to focus my daily practice in creative coziness, finding the sometimes hidden goodness in each day.

Days 30 and 31:
Ending this cozy and crisp month with fall leaves which I love to walk on at this time of year to experience their crispness and hear their crunch. :)

Days 23 - 29:
I have to be honest that I've lost my rhythm a bit with my daily posts. But I do have to say that I've relished in the bright blue sky on crisp days and enjoyed the brilliant fall colors on cozy days. Wherever I look, there is always something beautiful in nature. Everyday I have been focusing on befriending prosperity and welcoming abundance, cultivating creativity to promote well-being in myself and others, choosing positive thoughts, and staying light. I have written the word "light" on my hand every morning for about a week now to remind myself throughout the day to choose lightness over heaviness and seriousness. It really helps.

Making art--in any form--really does help me stay light too. Being the flow of things is feeling light and so is expressing joy and gratitude.

Days 18, 19, 20, 21, and 22:
I can't believe 5 days have already passed since my last entry! We have been blessed with more crisp days, but today has been a very cozy day. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to lead a guided meditation and collage session at work today. It got my collage juices flowing, and my mom's good friend, Linda who was also my 2nd grade teacher, gifted me several clipping of crisp and cozy recently that I wanted to include in a collage. :)

Days 15, 16, and 17:
There has been a mix of crisp, sunny fall days with cozy, rainy indoor days these last few days. The fall colors are so brilliant with the blue sky as the backdrop, but the cozy, cloudy days are just as a beautiful, just in a different way.

Days 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, and 14:
Yes, it's been one whole week since I last posted about my daily practice. But I have captured almost every day in photo form still. A storm of pessimism and overwhelm clouded my energy for a few of these days, but I'm focusing on cultivating my creative energy now.

Day 6:
Fog has a special category for me--a unique mix of cozy and crisp, inspiring me to take pictures while at a stoplight on my drive in to work this morning as the sunrise graced the valley.

Day 5:
Some creative coziness created by my brother-in-law who made authentic Ecuadorian fish soup called "encebollado," good for whatever ails you. :)

And seeing the moon during the day is always a special treat on a crisp, fall day.

Day 4:
A day of celebrations, no matter what the weather brings, as my wonderful, loving husband turns 30. :)

Day 3:
More gifts from the gods! A spectacular cloud tapestry in the sky as the sun set today.

Day 2:
A day of gifts, from an amazing sunrise to an impromptu and long-awaited walk around beautiful Green Lake on a very crisp October day.

Day 1:
A little crisp sunshine peaking through the pretty clouds:
